Lion Air Co-pilot Allegedly Moans and Offers Stewardess to Passengers
jpnn.com - JAKARTA - Lion Air, the country’s largest budget airline, has courted media spotlight yet again. Allegation on inappropriate behavior by one of his co-pilots has put the company, owned by Rusdi Kirana, to shame.
It was all started from one of Lion Air’s passenger, Lambertus Maengkom, reporting the inappropriate behavior in the Ministry of Transportation’s portal. In his complaint, Lambertus elaborated that he was on flight JT 990 from Surabaya to Denpasar on Saturday November 14. He felt uncomfortable and compelled to report the inappropriate in-flight service.
He claimed he had heard moaning sounds over the PA system on the fifty-five minute flight which is inappropriate and it should not have been heard by the passengers. The passengers started questioning the misconduct as it was not the only thing they heard on the flight.
Earlier on the flight, the co-pilot also, allegedly, offered a widowed stewardess to passengers over the speakers as compensation for the flight delay. The flight has been delayed for two hours as it later took off at 21.15 from the scheduled 19.15.
Confirming the report, the head of legal and public relations of Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Hemi Pamuraharjo said that the report was retrieved not long ago. “We received the report 2-3 days ago from our portal,” Hemi said.
The content, he added, was not different from what has circulated in the media. There was allegation on inappropriate in flight conduct by Lion air’s co-pilot. “Yes, about the moaning sounds and other things on the flight,” Hemi confirmed. (mia/end/apa/jpnn)
